This course was originally developed for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), at the request of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE), in 2005 — when the idea of storing CO2 (CO2 sequestration) had not even entered the vocabulary of most oil & gas industry professionals and managers. Since then, at the request of SPE and A&A's clients around the world, A&A has revised and updated the course several times to keep it current, and taught it repeatedly, either in conjunction with SPE conferences or in-house at A&A clients' offices worldwide — this course, together with a complementary CO2-EOR course, has been taught at least 26 times at about 17 locations around the world.
Clients usually request this course in 2 days (four 4-hour sessions), giving instructors enough time to cover each topic in detail and attendees enough time to get answers to their questions, since the subject is new to many of them — though A&A has also taught it in a single day (two 4-hour sessions), in person or live online, whenever requested.
