Reservoir Engineering & Simulation of Gas, Gas-Condensate and Volatile Oil Reservoirs

Field Development Planning (FDP), PVT/Compositional Studies, Petrophysical, Reservoir Simulation, and Facilities Studies for Optimizing Production Rates and Recoveries from Gas, Gas-Condensate and Volatile Oil Reservoirs

The seasoned consultants of the A&A Consulting Team have been working professionally on gas, gas-condensate and volatile oil reservoirs since the 1970s, and have had in-depth involvement in the evaluation, development and optimization of some of the world's major gas, gas-condensate and volatile oil reservoirs, onshore and offshore.

Avasthi & Associates, Inc. (A&A) is an independent petroleum engineering and geoscience consulting firm. A&A does not sell PVT software, reservoir-simulation software, production-modeling software, or field equipment — our only business is expert technical consulting, which means our recommendations on pressure-maintenance strategy, well design, and facilities are never influenced by a stake in any particular vendor or technology.

A&A Consulting Team’s extensive experience working on gas, gas-condensate and volatile oil fields, around the world, includes, but is not limited to, the following:

•    Determination of Hydrocarbons In-place

•    Field Development Planning (FDP)

•    Integrated Asset Modeling (IAM)

•    Network Modeling: Building / Modifying / Upgrading / Updating of Network Models

•    Reservoir Geophysical / Seismic Analysis

•    Reservoir Petrophysical Analysis

•    Reservoir Geomodeling / Static Modeling

•    Reservoir Analysis / Fluid Characterization, including dew-point and bubble-point (saturation-pressure) determination and phase-envelope construction

•    State-of-the-art PVT Simulation Studies, including equation-of-state (EOS) characterization and tuning to laboratory CCE, CVD and separator-test data

•    State-of-the-art Compositional Reservoir Simulation Studies / Dynamic Modeling

Pressure Maintenance in Retrograde Gas-Condensate and Volatile Oil Reservoirs by Nitrogen (N2) or Hydrocarbon Gas Injection

Whenever our clients discover a retrograde gas-condensate or a volatile oil reservoir, the first thing they typically ask us to do is investigate the desirability of operating the reservoir under a pressure-maintenance (gas-cycling) scheme, to keep reservoir pressure above the saturation pressure of the reservoir fluid. In rich retrograde gas-condensate reservoirs and high-shrinkage volatile oil reservoirs, keeping reservoir pressure above the fluid's saturation pressure is essential to maximizing liquid hydrocarbon recovery and to avoiding irreversible liquid dropout within the reservoir. This is most commonly accomplished by re-injecting produced lean gas, or by injecting nitrogen (N2) or purchased hydrocarbon gas — whichever is available and most economical. Our PVT and reservoir-simulation consultants are experts in conducting produced-gas cycling, N2 injection, and hydrocarbon-gas injection studies, using state-of-the-art PVT/compositional reservoir simulation.

We can put to work teams of our high-level and seasoned consultants, with extensive experience in pressure-maintenance and gas-cycling projects using produced gas, N2 or purchased hydrocarbon gas injection, and in conducting petrophysical, PVT, reservoir simulation, facilities, and related studies for optimizing production rates and recoveries from retrograde gas-condensate and volatile oil reservoirs, on your company’s gas, gas-condensate and volatile oil reservoirs, around the world, whenever requested.

In addition, we will be delighted to conduct customized training workshops on optimizing production rates and recoveries from gas, gas-condensate and volatile oil reservoirs, for the benefit of your company's professionals and managers, at your company's offices, around the world.
